Common Ground Collective has harvested more than 35,000 pounds of food for the year 2021 to date through its foster farming program. More than 10,000 pounds have been given to unsheltered people. Grow Some Good helps schools create or strengthen gardens. Chilis on Wheels brings free delicious vegan meals to people without homes. Good things that rarely make the headlines continue on Maui.  Children are taught about growing food in gardens and gain awareness of healthful, plant-based options.  Local residents are empowered to sell fruits and vegetables grown in their backyards.  Low-income and unsheltered people are enjoying increased access to plant-based food.  Although many of the individuals behind these changes may not be vegan, their efforts help build a community in which whole food, plant-based food is accessible to all.
